Mechanized sawmills were first documented in the 13th century. These were, in the context of the mill diversification at that time, modified grain mills that could saw wood using hydropower. Today, the wood industry (4.0) works with scanners and robots, which also communicate with each other and thus optimize woodworking process chains and maximize capacities.

About us
Profile Manager: My name is Adelbert-Ludwig Lazay – I am a forest product engineer with a master’s degree in wood science from the University of Hamburg, specialized in planning of production plants for solid wood processing of plantation timbers in nothern Latin America. Through the management of various hardwood sawmills in Germany and Colombia, I gained extensive practical process knowledge as well as a wide understanding of local conditions and the wood market itself. Projects have been realized so far in: Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Panamá.
For me, “planning of solid wood processing plants” means finding, on the one hand, the solution that best suits your needs, and, on the other hand, that best matches local conditions, so that optimal production conditions can be achieved.
Additionally, creation of local processing capacity for reforested timbers contributes to strengthening of the forestry sector, which, as a useful and desirable side effect, encourages the expansion of forest plantations – this especially in times when it is essential to preserve natural forest resources or, at best, even enlarge them again.
